An album capturing the very first solo Bing Satellites concert. Recorded at rehearsals and during my debut live performance at Buried Bones @ The New Oxford - part of Sounds From The Other City 2013, a festival of new music in Salford, UK. Over an hour of peaceful ambient music. All the music on this album is completely improvised. I start with a note or two and see where the music takes me. Available on CD and download.

My second CD release is an album of chilled ambience. Recorded at my home studio from April 2012 to February 2013, the album features music played on baritone guitar, piano and synths plus a ton of electronic jiggery pokery. The album is available on CD. The CD is housed in a beautiful, natural card package and includes a digital download of the album plus a postcard thrown in for good measure.

The second album in the colour series, following on from Red, released in May 2012. The music on this album is a selection of improvised recordings, mostly ambient in nature but with hints of darkness and psychedelia. Five of the songs on this album were recorded in the same week I recorded Landscape and Drift, a week when I was suffering with flu. I have not recollection of recording most of this material but when I had recovered, I checked my computer and discovered a surprising amount of music recorded during that time. I added a couple of other unreleased recordings which fit well, plus an improvised ambient session performed and broadcast live on my radio show Mostly Ambient on radio.electro-music.com. I perform live sets on that show every couple of months. However, the show airs every week 8-10pm UK time on Wednesday. A podcast follows shortly after the show. More details at www.bingsatellites/radio. And yes, it is likely I will do more colour albums in the future.

The Ambient Visitor - Twelve - the new peaceful longform album from my ambient side project - out now, free/name-your-price download

The twelfth album of deep and mysterious longform ambient music from my ambient side project. A continuous, 58 minute long piece. The music is generative: each note is played in a long loop, the length of each loop if different for each note, so although the music may seem to vary only slightly, it never quite repeats itself. The single track on this album (and albums to follow) is named after an Apollo near-Earth asteroid, objects whose orbits cross that of Earth. There are many hundreds of known Apollo asteroids, though only a few dozen have been named officially, so I may run out of names from this list as quickly as I did with TNOs.
Out now - music performed and broadcast live as part of a concert celebrating New Year's Eve and the 10th birthday of www.electro-music.com. Also included here are sections from two rehearsals for my performance. The NYE concert featured over 30 artists from around the world all performing live. Over 17 hours of live music. Although I had a set range of sounds to use, my performance was completely improvised.
As my time slot was 11:30pm to midnight GMT, towards the end I started to reflect on the year. I imagined I would end on a big crescendo but instead finished with a very quiet and warm sound. Feel free to share this music. Free/name-your-price download.

Record everything! That is the rule I try to live by. The music on this album was recorded in one week in March 2012, a week when I was rather unwell and thought I had done very little other than take my cold medicine and watch TV in bed. I played a few soothing tunes on the piano (well, my facsimile of a piano) from time to time, but it came as quite a surprise to find that all of these recordings (and a few weirder ones not included here) had been recorded during that week.
