The Dream

Experimental ambient electronica EP

Released by BFW recordings 31 January 2013

Bing Satellites - The Dream

The new experimental ambient EP from Bing Satellites.

A heady mix of ambient dub and glitchy electronics along with lush strings and atmospheres.

The songs on this EP, unusually for me, all came to life through different processes:

Bing Satellites - Sleepwalking - The Dream

Sleepwalking is built around the rhythms of a loop of sound put through a resonator. The sound I recorded when I stuck a microphone out of my window. At that moment, a couple of neighbours were putting out their rubbish. That is what you can hear at the start and throughout the track.

The Dream is an editing version of a jam I did having fun with a new synth sound (the wobbly log drum type sound).

Of Better Times is made entirely of layered and looped samples - each sample a different length.

Slider was recorded just after I completed the Forever EP and played and sequenced in the same way.

Awakening is a mixture of all of the above - everything but the kitchen sink!
