Largely recorded in the heat of the southern California sun, The Village is an album of chilled out ambient music from prolific Manchester ambienteer Bing Satellites.
Over two and a half hours of quiet music inspired by the beauty of southern California and all its charms, the Pacific Ocean and New Mexico.
This whole album was recorded on a very minimal set up, due to the mobile nature of the recording sessions - a laptop, a pair of headphones and a small MIDI keyboard. The limitations of the set up and the circumstances and the beauty of the surroundings were very inspiring. There are improvised Twilight Sessions style loops plus layered loops of sounds using a technique similar to Eno's Music For Airports (but made much simpler with today's technological advances).
There will be more music recorded in California (and beyond) in the future.
